A generous three-year grant from the Vitalyst Health Foundation provides for in-school eye exams, acuity screenings and for the students to select their special frames for their new glasses. This grant applies to low-income students with no vision insurance and those students on AHCCCS. Each student will be given a new eyeglass case to hold their new glasses. There is no charge to the families or the schools for those students that qualify.

2024 to 2025 Eye Exams and Glasses in Maricopa County Schools
As of December 31, 2024, the Arizona Lions Vision and Hearing Foundation has made incredible progress toward its goal of providing 800 students with eye exams and glasses by the end of the school year. Through the generous support of the Vitalyst Foundation grant, 438 students have already received free eye exams and glasses—an opportunity many may not have otherwise had. This effort ensures that students in need are able to see clearly and succeed both in and out of the classroom. Let’s keep the momentum going as we work together to reach every student in need!
